If you have been following this blog over the course of the last couple of weeks, you will know that I have recently compiled a list of 30 things that I want to do before I turn 30 next year May. I have been breaking this list down every week to explain my thought process and motivation behind every item on the list. Today’s breakdown will show you that sometimes the things on the list take a little more planning and coordination than just getting into the car and driving to the location. S, without any further ado, here is the elaboration on items 20 to 23 on the list.
30 Before Thirty #20: Visit Canada
Since I can remember, I have been longing to visit Canada, a hike through the Rocky Mountains, see the big lakes of the country, go fishing with my cousins, grab a coffee and a donut at Tim Horton’s, wander through a maple forest, and going to watch an ice hockey match. I know these things are all very stereotypical, so I will leave it to the Canadians to fill in the itinerary with things not to be missed whilst in Canada. Covid permitting air travel, of course. For now, I think the trip to Canada has a lot of variables. Only time will tell if it will realize before my 30th birthday.
30 Before Thirty #21: Have a silly photoshoot
When I say silly photoshoot, what I actually mean is just a random photoshoot where I can dress up (or down), do my hair and make-up, and pose in front of a camera (as one does for a photo shoot). I’m still contemplating what type of photoshoot I want it to be between a boudoir shoot, a professional shoot, or a simple personal photoshoot (the little voice inside my head just screamed: Why not all three?!). I will decide on this next year when I get there.
30 Before Thirty #22: Go Pole dancing
Since moving to Johannesburg, I have been looking for new ways to meet people and to get fit whilst doing it. I know the topic of pole dancing is quite taboo. However, it looks like a ton of fun and something to up your fitness and stamina levels, whilst increasing flexibility and strength. Luckily for me, there is a gym right around the corner from where I currently live. They offer 3 and 6-month contracts, which is perfect, as a 3-month contract would be exactly what I need (I don’t know where I’m going to be once the lease at my current place expires). I will be enrolling in the classes on the 10th of January, with my first class on the 11th. Quite exciting!
30 Before Thirty #23: Go Rock climbing
I have been absolutely fascinated by rock climbing since I went to De Pakhuys, a camping and bouldering spot located north of the Cedarburg Mountains in the Western Cape. The first time I went, I missioned up the rocky faces on my own, but I would love to go back and conquer some of the boulders. One of my close friends in Johannesburg is a member of an indoor rock climbing gym, CitiRock, and she has been begging me to come to climb with her since I moved up here. So, I want to give it a try. That would be a good introduction towards doing bouldering properly.
So, there you have it, the next 4 items on the list are explained. Have you had time to make your list as yet? Have you written about it? Comment down below and we can follow along on each other’s journeys.
Until next time,
