Sharpen your spiritual ax

Ecclesiastes 10:10 “Using a dull ax requires great strength, so sharpen the blade. That’s the value of wisdom; it helps you succeed.”

How well do you know your Bible? How often do you read your Bible? Did you know that every bit of self-help advise you get from regular books that you need in this life, is in the Bible? All you need to do is read the right passages to help you in your path. All you need to do is to allow the Spirit to move within you to lead you to the verses you need to be.

A few days ago, we read about our inherent need for companionship to conquer life’s battles, in both the physical and the spiritual realm. Today, we are adding to this. Today, we will be relating this verse in Ecclesiastes to Ephesians 6 verse 17 (b) “… and take the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.” Let us thinks of the ax in Ephesians as a lack of knowledge of the Bible and the precious truths it contains.

When our knowledge on the Bible and the verses of the Bible is lacking, we tend to be spiritually weak. This is why it is extremely important for us to spend time with God every single day. Not necessarily reading five chapters, but just cultivating a knowledge and learning how to interpret the Bible through the wisdom God provides. We need to allow the spirit to fill our hearts with these truths, so that when the devil strikes at you, either in the spiritual realm or the physical, that you are able to combat him through the truths from the Bible.

Remember, the Devil also knows the Bible, but He does not have the provision of strength it provides. Thus, you should learn from your Bible, learn to interpret it, sharpen your spiritual ax and learn how to use it like a sword when you are in combat. Through this, you will rise victoriously.
