To obey and to find time

Ecclesiastes 8: 5 & 6 reads “Those who obey him will not be punished. Those who are wise will find a time and a way to do what is right, for there is a time and a way for everything, even when a person is in trouble.”

What are the things in your life that you dedicate your time to? How do you manage them? Are there times when you are sitting with idle hands? What are the excuses that you make to not pursue your purpose in life? How do you treat the voice in your head, guiding your thoughts? Do you listen to its council, or do you deafen it and pretend that it is not there? How speedy do you react on the instructions that the Lord has given for your life?

Through listening to God’s voice and showing obedience to Him, you are set free. It gives your life a sense of meaning. Through pursuing the purpose He has placed on your life, you will find your pleasure and your peace through the work He has given you to do. You must make the time to pursue your purpose on this earth. You must trust in God, be obedient to Him and find a way to dedicate your time to Him. Make time. Find time. You have placed Him in an honorary position in your life. Make time to prove your faith and exercise your obedience towards Him. Do it with a delighted heart. He wants you to find pleasure in being obedient to Him.

Though you may face many troubles, whether they are financial, physical, time bound and everything in between. When you are obedient to the Lord and follow the path that He has intended for you to walk – a purposed path – a way will be found. He will provide.

The Lord has sent the Spirit down to earth to provide us with the wisdom required to make decisions through good judgement in our lives. You will not always understand the purpose behind the Lord’s commands for you, but you should obey them none the less, as all will be revealed in its time.

Go out and be obedient towards God. Go out and make a fraction of your time available to the things that He has purposed you to do. Go out today and find your joy in the things that would give Him joy.
